hi, can anyone tell me if a ranger primary can keep up SF during farming runs? I'd rather not start a whole new character if I don't have to. thanks in advance.

However, [skill]Quickening Zephyr[/skill] might do the trick along with [skill]Deadly Paradox[/skill] of course.

They won't target the spirit if it's outside your agro bubble when you agro mobs. You can't stack multiple skills to recharge faster than 50%, so no skill stacks with QZ.

sins are the only ones that can keep it up constantly

since you're a ranger, you can use [[serpent's quickness] instead of [[deadly paradox]

You could maintain it indefinitely with a consumable to boost shadow to 13(27 seconds), a 20% mod, and some method of 50% recharge, like QZ, otherwise it can be lowered to a 30 second recharge with a 30 second duration([email protected], and a 20% mod).

Oh boy, it begins.....

It's been less than a day and we're already discussing ways to abuse the over-buffed Shadow Form. This was easily the worst of the reverts.

But why would you even want perma Shadow Form on a Ranger anyway, unless farming? Rangers have more important things to do with their time and skill slots (again, unless farming).

Even farming, what use would u have for a permaform? (as a ranger... farms are usually long range kills (splinter barrage/fissure forest), touch ranger or traps...

Yes I think that would work. Essence is basically replace Glyph of swiftness, but its expensive.

I use shadow form for chest running as Im sure other chest runners do so it could be useful there although not really necessary.

Shadow Form lasts 30 seconds with 20% enchanting at 12 Shadow Arts.

The most HSR you can get is 50%.

So no, perma-SF doesn't work on any secondary Sin.

Using a Grail of Might or Golden Egg will get you 13 Shadow Arts which means it is possible.

& b) dont you use echo to echo dust trap in order to actually get the damage needed to kill.

I agree, if you need shadow form to trap, one of two things is happening
1)You've already aggroed the enemies and will proceed to trap them:
meaning you have to lay your traps one by one causing enemy scatter, making perma shadowform less effecient time-wise.
2)You're using it to pull enemies to your traps:
meaning, you suck at the game and need to uninstall guildwars right now...

Aside from traps, I'm not sure what damage dealing capabilities you see in a ranger to make perma shadowform worth using to farm.

Why should someone stop playing guildwars because they're bad at pulling enemies into traps? And do traps scatter enemies if laid slowly in NM? What if it allows you to get enormous aggros somewhere? It's at the very least worth thinking about.

What can perma shadow form offer you over a defensive stance and the ability to echo dust trap? What if you can already pull enormous aggros through the use of my previously described tactics?
Perma shadow form realy offers no effecient means over any current trapping setup, while normaly I'm keen to keep an open mind, doing so for this offers no benefits, as the idea will lead no where.

Sorry but, plain and simple, perma shadowform offers no benefit to a ranger.
